Overview

Text Splitter & Counter is a browser extension that allows you to split text into parts, count metrics (words, characters, paragraphs), and export slices as text files. It operates entirely within your browser's side panel.

Data Collection

Text Splitter & Counter does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data stays entirely on your device.

Data Storage and Security

All extension data is stored locally using chrome.storage.local. This includes:

Your most recent input text
Your last split operation settings (mode, size, prefix, cleanup toggle)
Generated slices from the last operation
A history of your last 5 split operations (mode, size, slice count, and a 100-character preview)

No data is sent to any external server.

Data Retention

Locally stored data persists until the user clears it manually (via the Clear or Clear History buttons) or uninstalls the extension.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not communicate with any third-party services. All functionality is self-contained.
